Comment: chris , This page might have...

Note: This aidpage was started as a comment on "need a car for handicapped parents"

chris , This page might have something your parents can use. Plus , if they are disabled and are on Medicaid or Medicare , they are entitled to free transportation to medical appointments. The social securtiy office should help them with this. soulight

I am a working class married woman with zero children.  Infertily options has been flushed.  I can' believe I'm saying that I am poor when I work.  I don't qualify for low income housing, bankrutcy is really not going to help.

I need someone to help us.

I promised myself that I would start a legitimate non-profit agency in my community to help the working people so that they would not have to suffer and feel sick.  Pay Day Lending is definitely not the cushion.  Sometimes people just need a good ole fashion cushion.

We need to pay it forward.

I am an older man that is trying to get back into the work force. I have been 'getting by' on my writing but now I need to earn a better living as I have met someone and we hope/plan to marry this fall. I have been in the workforce before with my own business (the market forces changed and the money went away) and also working for the phone company and construction in different locales.
I have been applying to job offers around the country and I have had one come back. This is an opportunity I don't want to miss. It has been very difficult to find work in my field and there is none where I am currently staying. I have a friend that is putting me up but I have been here far longer than expected and the odd jobs and temp jobs aren't what I need because I am not able to put aside any money for moving and starting over. I'm barely keeping my head above water.

I am a good man that works hard at his trade. I have raised a son and he is doing well in his life but like most of us he has his burdens and is not in a position to help out.
I am spiritually connected and I have not considered doing this before but my back is against the wall now and I have no idea what to do next, so here I am asking for your help.

Chances are I will not be able to pay back each of you directly but I will (hopefully) soon be in a position to 'pay it forward'...

Thanks for taking the time to read this and thank you for your help

My name is Don.

I am a husband and father to three great children who have been through a lot in their short lifetimes.

I enjoy simple things, quiet times, loving and caring for my family.

As many parents do, I want more for my children, but for now I would like to just be able to continue feeding, clothing, guiding, and keeping a roof over their heads.

I have been told that I have a good head for business, and I am ready to start my own company. After 25yrs of verbal ,mental abuse,I think it is time for me to take a chance on myself.I no it will be hard, but that just drives me to succeed.I have had some bad breaks in my life, but I have and will not let that stop me from at least trying, because no matter if I fail[which I will not]I could at least say I tried. Not only will this help me,but it will help me put some young people to work and learn a trade other than factory work. All I ask is just a little help ,not only will this help my family, but also the community.

I was born in Pine Bluff. Worked twenty one years in the school system. Gave up my job to return to my community where low income , poverty and drugs has infested the community. I am widow with four grown children.

My life style has changed because I have given it up to serve God and my community.

I see children that are in  school who can not write their names, nor can they read. The parent are unable to help them.I see young ladies without high school education with no hope. I am determine to make a difference in my community. No matter what it cost me and it has cost me a lot.

I am a black female, 53 years of age.  On May 3, 2004 I retired from the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections with 20 years of service as a Corrections Master Sergeant.  Formely for the 10 years prior I was a secondary school teacher for the Dade County Public School System.

I am a 1974 graduate of Southern University with a B.S. Degree in Education.  Born in Ethel, LA and reared in Baton Rouge, LA,  a 1970 graduate of Scotlandville Senior High School in Baton Rouge, LA.

I am presently living on a small pension income and have several health problems (diabetes, high blood pressure, glucoma) and have not been able to secure a job.  The reason I retired was due too the long hours(12) and stress of Corrections.

KK is a single mother of one, at the present time both are in school. However KK would like to be able to retire by the time she is 60 years old, if not younger, and for once be able to enjoy life doing what she love.
